Additional reference
Reference whose requisite values are used in hints to system objects or in additional requisites of other references.
Additional requisite
Requisite of additional reference that is used while working with the current reference.
Administrator
Person employed to maintain and configure DIRECTUM system according to the business processes of the company. Administrator has privileges that are required to perform actions in the system, for example, the Manage access rights privilege.
Administrator (in narrow sense)
Person who is a member of the Administrators group specified in the User Groups component and has all privileges to perform actions in the system.
Analytical report
Report that helps you analyze information from selected source of data.
Archive object
System object that is rarely used in daily work. Such objects are moved to a system archive. This storage process occurs automatically according to the rule set by system administrator. Documents, tasks, reference records can be archived. By default, archive objects are not used in search results, whereas archive reference records are not shown in the list of records.
Control job
Job that comes to the initiator of the task after the performers completed their jobs. The initiator can accept this job or send it for revision.
Document
DIRECTUM object, consisting of a card and the content. The card stores the values of main requisites, such as title, author, date and document number. The content has the format of the editor in which the document was created. It may be either text, graphic or audio information.
Document local copy
File copy saved on the user's computer in case of failures which is deleted after closing the document.
Document version
Variant of a document. Each document version has a particular state: in design, actual, and obsolete.
Folder
Structural DIRECTUM element, containing links to documents, tasks, jobs, components and other folders.
Folder cover
Tab in the folder content area that displays folder information and its content.
Hierarchy
Grouping order of the reference records that allows you to display them as a tree. Reference records are grouped by values of the "Reference" type fields.
Hierarchy tree
Form of displaying the system data according to the hierarchy rules.
Integrated report
Report created from a particular reference using its data.
Job
Part of the work passed to one of the task performers.
Leading job
Job from which subtasks are created. This job is the leading one towards its subtasks and can have its main or leading task as well.
Leading task
Task from which subtasks are created. This task is the leading one towards its subtasks and can have its main or leading task as well.
Link
Object pointing to DIRECTUM documents, tasks, jobs, folders or components. Each document, task, job, folder or component can have several links.
Main task
Task of the task family which does not have the leading task.
Notification
Job that comes to the performer and does not require any action in the system. The performer may just take into consideration the information.
Observer
Employee who should be kept informed of the work done. An observer receives a notification of the task you are sending and can perform actions on the task, for example, create subtasks.
Plug-in
Set of software components that adds specific abilities to a larger DIRECTUM software application.
Privilege
User right to perform a particular action and work with system objects. Privileges are assigned by administrators to individual users or user groups as part of system security settings.
Quick search
Search that begins to display results as soon as a keyword is entered. When you enter criteria, objects in the current view are automatically filtered to show only those that match what you typed.
Reference
DIRECTUM component intended for handling structured information.
Reference record
Structural item of the DIRECTUM reference.
Report
DIRECTUM object that allows you to view and analyze information organized according to your specifications. Reports open in external applications.
Role
A collection of users united by a characteristic, for example, by the tasks that the user can perform.
Rule
One or more actions, automatically performed over the received jobs, control jobs, notifications, or started tasks, that meet certain conditions, with the possible exceptions.
Search folder
Folder collecting items that match specific search criteria.
Search requisite
Reference requisite used while searching reference records by text fragments. Any requisite of the current reference or an additional requisite can be a search requisite except the requisites of the Text or Pick type.
Shadow copy
Document content copy, created after changing the document content.
Special search
Searching by certain criteria values.
Standard route
Set of task property values and a route scheme. It describes a typical business process or interaction pattern. It can be used many times.
Status
Colored mark displayed in the list of objects.
Subtask
Task created from another task or job in DIRECTUM. The difference between the subtask and regular task is that the text of the subtask and all its jobs is available in the card of a parent task or job.
System Explorer
Main window of the system, from which a user reaches the DIRECTUM objects and performs various actions. Explorer opens after logon.
Task
Part of the work that must be performed. Each task is created by initiator and is sent to performers. In the task card, you can find the following information: initiator, performers, the order of completing the work, and the deadline.
Task family
Generalized name for tasks and jobs created to perform a particular part of the work. Task family includes one leading task, its jobs, and subtasks.
Task observers
Users who should track the work described in the task. They receive notifications after the task start.
Task route
List of performers on a task with specified order and the tasks deadlines.
Task tree
Way of displaying text in the task and job. The main task is displayed with all its subtasks and jobs as a tree.
Tree node
Node in the reference records hierarchic tree.
Type of job
Description of a job according to its purpose. There are three types of job: Job (in the narrow sense), Notification and Control job.
User
Employee working with DIRECTUM.
User profile
Web Access settings for a specific user. For example, regional settings, recently opened documents, column width in the list of reference records.
Web Access
Software tool designed for working with DIRECTUM via Internet browsers.
Web Access Agent
Standalone application installed on your computer that allows you to extend functionality of Web Access site.
Web Access Explorer
The main page providing access to DIRECTUM objects.
Web Access site
Web site designed for working with DIRECTUM via Internet browsers. Web site URL is defined by system administrator.
